Guy has worked in the education industry for over thirty years in leadership positions and held the positions of CEO of the Australian Institute of Music, Directeur Générale /CEO of Glion Institute of Higher Education Switzerland, CEO of the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School. He previously held positions of leadership across Western Sydney Institute of TAFE including Blue Mountains College Director.
One of the Founding Directors of Tourism Hospitality Education International Centre for Education (THE-ICE) Board since 2008, Professor Guy Bentley was elected as Chair and Director of THE-ICE Board in 2011 and steered the team to financial sustainability with outstanding enthusiasm and leadership until 2013. He has additional several other boards over the last 10 years prior to his retirement in 2019.
Guy has received many significant awards to recognise his contribution to education and industry. In 2017 he was honoured as a Fellow of THE-ICE for his work in international accreditation and quality benchmarking and in 2015, he was awarded the Ashley Spencer Award for ‘Service to the Industry’ at the Hotel Management awards. In 2011 he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Accommodation Association of Australia for his contribution to Industry Education. In 2018 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for THE-ICE.
Guy has presented regularly at conferences as well as assisting organisations in the areas of governance, accreditation and the advantage of investing in people.
