Mindfulness Meditation is an eight-week course consisting of weekly 2-hour classes. Research shows that regular mindfulness practice is effective in reducing stress and thereby improving immune function and health outcomes. It also results in improved mental function and reduced levels of anxiety, depression and chronic pain. Practitioners routinely report feeling calmer and more engaged with work and relationships. Best outcomes can be expected when participants undertake the recommended home practice of 45 minutes, six days per week for the duration of the course.
The course involves guided meditation and gentle movement practices, discussion on meditation practice and emotional regulation, and experiential work with reducing patterns of stress reactivity.
