Cancer Wellness Support is entirely community-powered, so every dollar raised contributes directly to sustaining our affordable and person-centred model. Our Capacity Building Fund is both a safeguard for today and an investment in tomorrow, meeting the evolving needs of our community to ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
We’re delighted to share another generous contribution from Commonwealth Bank, who have provided $20,000 to our Capacity Building Fund.
Bronwyn Shacallis, Area Manager Penrith NSW, shares more:
What inspires CBA’s ongoing support of Cancer Wellness Support?
At CBA, we’re committed to strengthening the wellbeing and resilience of the communities we serve, work and live. Cancer Wellness Support plays an extraordinary role in providing compassionate, practical care for people navigating one of life’s toughest challenges. Their programs don’t just support individuals — they uplift families, carers and the broader community. Seeing the real difference they make inspires our continued support year after year.
What factors or values influenced your decision to provide this grant?
This grant reflects our strong belief in backing organisations that create meaningful, local impact and where values of organisations and people align. Cancer Wellness Support aligns perfectly with our values of care, community and connection. Their dedication to providing accessible services, holistic therapies and emotional support ensures people feel seen, supported and empowered. We choose to invest in this work because it helps create a more inclusive and compassionate community for everyone.
As we look ahead to 2026, what are you most excited about exploring and collaborating on together?
I’m excited about deepening our partnership and working together on programs that continue to improve the wellbeing of local families. There is also the strong connection that our staff and customers have and the support they provide by knitting blankets for those people who receive treatment at the centre. There’s so much potential to continue to expand community awareness, strengthen volunteer networks and collaborate on initiatives that support recovery, resilience and connection. I look forward to building on the momentum we’ve created and helping Cancer Wellness Support reach even more people across our region in 2026.
Thank you Bronwyn and Commonwealth Bank! We appreciate everything you and the team do for Cancer Wellness Support, and it is an honour to have your support. This incredible donation will help us power future growth and strengthen the foundations that make our work possible.
