Dry July Goal Smashed for the 3rd Year Running!

For the third year in a row, Cancer Wellness Support proudly took part in Dry July, and this year was nothing short of extraordinary.

With a goal of $65,000, we raised a mind-blowing $73,489!

Why Do We Dry July?

The Dry July Foundation is a registered Australian charity behind the annual Dry July campaign. It encourages people across the country to go alcohol-free for the month of July to raise funds for people living with cancer.

Unlike many campaigns that focus on research, Dry July is about direct, tangible support. The funds raised go straight into delivering practical services and participants can choose to support specific beneficiary organisations, like Cancer Wellness Support.

This annual campaign raises awareness and assists us  to continue providing person-centred, practical, and supportive care for individuals and their families living with cancer. Dry July is one of the rare campaigns that funds essential, life-enhancing services. We are deeply grateful for our ongoing partnership and everyone’s involvement and support.

This year, all funds raised will go towards us continuing to provide:

  • subsidised therapy sessions to support emotional, physical, and mental health
  • expand wellness programs for carers, ensuring the support network gets the support they need
  • access to specialised programs offered at Mt Wilga Hospital, and the ongoing care and support of our lymphoedema specialists across both wellness centres.

So, how did we do it?

This kind of success doesn’t happen alone – it was the power of community in action:

  • Our Op Shops became fundraising powerhouses — baking delicious treats, planting succulents in quirky donated containers, and encouraging extra donations at the counter.
  • A dash of friendly rivalry between our wellness centres and Head Office added to the fun, with workshops, raffles, and even our infamous trivia night creating a buzz across the whole organisation.
  • Women With Altitude (WWA) went above and beyond, spreading the word and rallying their members with enthusiasm and generosity.
  • Everyone who supported our dollar matching, with a big shout out to Bendigo Bank and Coca Cola Australia Foundation for their generous contributions.
  • We were also joined by 39 dedicated fundraisers from across NSW, each committing to the month-long challenge and taking our cause far and wide.
  • Most importantly, our clients, carers, therapists, volunteers, and supporters all played a part — showing once again that when the power of community comes together, amazing things happen.

Thank you for making Dry July 2025 our most successful campaign yet. Because of all of you, Cancer Wellness Support continues to ensure that no one needs to face cancer on their own.
