Write Talk Meditate with Sabina Rabold - Saturday August 20th

Emerge from this one-day workshop with a revitalized sense of inner peace and calm, no matter where you are at in your life. Learn meditation practices that support your wellbeing and resilience. Experience a day of sanctuary in a confidential space shared with like-minded others. Grow in familiarity using pen and paper to express yourself authentically. And feel yourself nourished by the kindness and care of the Cancer Wellness Support Centre. 

No writing experience is necessary and grammar, spelling and writing ability are unimportant. All you need to bring is a desire to express yourself and a journal or notepad and a pen. There will be class activities but everyone’s writing material will be kept as private as participants wish.

Meditation practices are designed for beginners and more experienced practitioners alike.

Sabina Rabold is a psychotherapist for individuals, couples and groups in private practice in Crows Nest, Sydney. She is dedicated to supporting people to find their most authentic life and to live it with heartfulness and ease.

Training and education are her second passion and she has taught many workshops and seminars over the past 20 plus years of her practice. She is also an academic teacher at university and the Director of Training of a post-graduate program in Buddhism and Psychotherapy. Writing and meditating have been a lifelong passion and a life-line during the difficult times along the way. Her writing teachers have included Natalie Goldberg, Pattie Miller, Sue White, Nicole Breit and others.

Cancer Wellness Support invites you to experience this special event in the clear air of the stunning Blue Mountains NSW

Escape to Wellness Retreat is a time to stop, to breathe, to experience how change of thought, of food and of lifestyle can enhance your life.

  • It is an experiential retreat which offers you researched teachings and strategies to assist you to navigate your way through your cancer experience and help you plan and set your path towards healing and recovery.
  • Based on the cancer model of Integrative healing, sessions will cover psycho-psychoneuroimmunology and the relationship between mind and emotions, the impact of stress and relaxation on the body, developing a regular meditation practice, anti-cancer nutrition, emotional healing and creating a meaningful life of purpose.
  • We will explore self-responsibility for health, intuition, and empowerment, allowing you to make treatment choices with confidence – also research around exercise and healing, with guided Qi gong sessions and walks.
  • We offer a supportive retreat experience in the stunning environs of the Blue mountains - linking with likeminded people, enjoying healthy plant based meals and developing your individual GPS for creating your healthy lifestyle for optimal wellbeing

All this with accommodation and nutritious food covered in the cost of your escape topped off in the fresh clear of the Blue Mountains.

The Retreat program is based on the principles of the Ian Gawler Foundation which were developed over many years by Ian Gawler following his own journey living with cancer.

Your Facilitator, Liz Stilwell

Liz trained with The Gawler Cancer Foundation in 2004, initially leading 12 week Lifestyle change programmes for cancer and wellbeing, teaching Mindfulness meditation courses, and counselling for cancer diagnoses. Within a cancer context, her counselling specialises in trauma recovery, anxiety and depression.
At TGCF, Liz facilitated monthly Cancer retreats, and MS and Mindbody Medicine retreats.
For 5 years, Liz assisted Drs Ian & Ruth Gawler in leading Mindfulness Meditation Retreats in the Coromandel Peninsula, NZ. As a Spiritual Carer, Liz works in Palliative care, integrating Meditation and Spirituality into her patient work, with a compassionate holistic approach to navigating chronic illness. She advocates strongly for a life created and directed by the heart, holding a deep lifelong interest in spirituality.
