Long-Term Supporter Bygone Beautys Unites Our Local Community

This year marks a remarkable milestone for Cancer Wellness Support, with 20 years of delivering affordable, person-centred cancer support across the Blue Mountains, Penrith, and Hawkesbury regions.

As part of our year-long celebrations, we were honoured to have Maurice G Cooper OAM and Kerry McKenzie of Bygone Beautys host a very special annual fundraising dinner, with many long-term supporters coming together to celebrate as a community.

Their dedication and ongoing support stretches right back to the beginning, standing beside our founder Robyn Yates OAM to help bring her vision to life, creating a community where people living with cancer can access the support they need, close to home.

Held on Thursday 5 June at the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School, the evening was filled with warmth, reflection, and heartfelt connection. Nearly 80 guests enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, surrounded by the generosity and spirit that has sustained Cancer Wellness Support for two decades.

Adding to the joy of the evening, students from the Hotel Management School brought energy and humour to the night as they proudly served guests and enthusiastically paraded some of the prized auction items, creating plenty of smiles and laughter along the way

Thanks to the incredible generosity in the room, the night raised an amazing $17,500, which will go directly towards delivering vital therapies and wellness services for individuals and families living with cancer.

A heartfelt thank you to Maurice and Kerry for their ongoing support, and to all who attended and have given so generously over the years. It truly captures what we mean when we speak of the Power of Community. Everyone’s commitment embodies the spirit of Cancer Wellness Support, which is built on care, driven by community, and sustained by generosity.

This unforgettable evening is just one of the highlights in our 20-year celebration. Next, we look forward to welcoming guests to the Emerald Dinner on Friday 20 June at the beautiful Lakeside Restaurant in Penrith – another chance to come together, celebrate our shared impact and help shape the future of Cancer Wellness Support. We invite you to be part of it.
