Following the incredible success of the inaugural event last year, Purcell Property’s Run the Open Home is returning in 2026.
Last year, runners took on an extraordinary challenge, covering 32km from Katoomba to Springwood — with a few going as far as 62km — and raising more than $14,000 for Cancer Wellness Support. Check out some of the memories from 2025 in this video.
What began as a simple challenge quickly became something much more – a celebration of endurance, generosity and the incredible community spirit that exists across the Blue Mountains.

This year, we’re inviting our supporters, sponsors, runners and local businesses to come together once again to make an even greater impact.
On Saturday 26 September 2026, runners will set off from the Cancer Wellness Support Katoomba Op Shop, following a curated trail through the Blue Mountains before finishing at Purcell Property in Springwood.
Along the way, runners will experience some of the beautiful Blue Mountains landscape while stopping at an unique collection of open homes.

Last year’s event showed us what is possible when people come together behind a great cause. This year, we are hoping to go even further and make an even greater impact for local people and families living with cancer.
