At Cancer Wellness Support, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Their generosity creates a ripple effect that reaches far beyond the hours they give, helping us support more people affected by cancer across our community.
Each week, 174 volunteers share their time, skills and kindness with CWS. Whether they welcome clients and carers at our Wellness Centres, support our Op Shops or assist at events, their contribution extends far beyond volunteering hours.
Our volunteers help to make thousands of subsidised therapy sessions possible each year, ensuring people affected by cancer can access the support they need during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
The dedication and hard work of our volunteers contributed to the outstanding success of our Dry July 2026 fundraising efforts, with both Op Shops playing a huge role.
While every volunteer has their own unique story, one thing connects us all — a shared commitment to our purpose. Many of our volunteers have been touched by cancer in some way, whether through their own experience or by supporting a loved one. This personal connection inspires the empathy and understanding they bring to every interaction.

Celebrating Our Volunteers
As part of National Volunteers Week, we were delighted to celebrate our wonderful volunteers with a special lunch at The Log Cabin Hotel.
It was a beautiful opportunity to bring together many of the remarkable people who help power Cancer Wellness Support, share stories, enjoy each other’s company and celebrate the incredible difference they make.
A special thank you to our Operations Coordinator, Suzy Baker, for organising such a wonderful event, and to the team at The Log Cabin Penrith for creating a warm and welcoming space for our volunteers to connect and celebrate. We also extend our appreciation to Black Opal Promotional Products for generously providing branded keep cups as a special token of thanks for our volunteers.
To every CWS volunteer – thank you. Your kindness helps ensure that no one has to face cancer alone. Together, we are making a meaningful difference, one act of support at a time.
